NRB instructions to open account based on national identity card

JAN 12, KATHMANDU – Nepal Rastra Bank has instructed banks and financial institutions to arrange account opening on the basis of national identity cards.

Nepal Rastra Bank has requested again through public notice. It had already directed the banks and financial institutions through the integrated directive.

In order to ensure easy access to the National Identity Card, the National Identity Card and Registration Department has arranged that the National Identity Card can be obtained through each district administration office.

It is mentioned in the notification of the Central Bank that necessary instructions have been given to all banks and financial institutions to facilitate the opening of bank accounts by the customers through the portal of the department.
